Students are engaged in the work of building an ensemble, analyzing plays and characters, and adapting and presenting a theatrical piece(s). Specific curriculum may focus on the development of students' understanding of theatrical performance and production and the ability to take creative risks. The program culminates in a showcase of an original work adapted from the works of Shakespeare to be performed on the Playwrights Theatre stage.
Ensemble work relies heavily on the continuous, focused attention from every student involved in the class. This includes, but is not limited to, consistent attendance for the entire program. The lasting impact of the program is largely determined by how much students put into it and build upon the lessons learned in previous sessions. Students must enroll for the entire year; enrollment in only one semester is not possible. Tuition may be paid in full, or over a payment plan. Please contact the Education office for more details.
