1/16 Lecture: Girls’ Global Leadership: Alice Paul’s Legacy on the World Stage.

Emily Bent, a doctoral student in global women’s studies at the National
University of Ireland, Galway, will speak on “Girls’ Global Leadership:
Alice Paul’s Legacy on the World Stage.” at the Alice Paul Institute’s
annual meeting, and a video of an international exchange between the Alice
Paul Institute’s Girls Advisory Council and the girls of Awegys Secondary
School, Kigo, Uganda, will be shown.

WHEN: Sunday, Jan. 16, 1 - 4 p.m. (business meeting for
members, 1 -2 p.m., program 2 - 4 p.m.)
WHERE: Moorestown Friends School Auditorium, 110 E. Main St., Moorestown.

The program is free and open to the public but advance registration by
Friday, Jan. 14, is required.

The Alice Paul Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to
educating the public about the life and work of New Jersey’s most famous
suffragist, Alice Stokes Paul (1885-1977), author of the Equal Rights
Amendment, founder of the National Woman’s Party and a lifelong activist
for women’s equality. API’s mission is to educate the public about her
life, preserve historic Paulsdale, develop future leaders and work towards
achieving women’s equality. Paulsdale, Alice Paul’s Mt. Laurel birthplace
and family home, is a National Historic Landmark and serves as a center
for celebrating women’s history and leadership.
