Scientists Make Dinosaur Find at NJ Construction Site

Scientists Make Dinosaur Find at NJ Construction Site By MICHAEL HOROWICZ Here’s one that will get kids and scientists all over the world very excited. A well preserved fossil of a dinosaur footprint was just found at a construction site in Clifton, New Jersey. Three big toes of a dinosaur from the Jurassic era can be seen on the rock that's about the size of a small car. The foot fossil will be removed from the site of the new Four Seasons at Great Notch residential complex, currently under construction in the Woodland park section of Clifton, later today by volunteers and taken to the Museum of the State of New Jersey. It will be examined by scientists at a museum facility in Trenton. Doug Fenichel of developer K. Hovnanian Homes, tells NBC New York that his firm is working with the museum “to strike a delicate balance between preserving our history and the progress of a new community.” Both groups plan to hold a news conference to show off the fossil before it is taken to Trenton.
