NE Unschooling Conference

Northeast Unschooling Conference in Wakefield, MA
(just outside of Boston)
August 27-30, 2009
(www.northeastunschoolingconference.com/index.html)

EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION has been EXTENDED until May 1, 2009.

Along with an unschooling conference jam packed with Sessions by your favorite unschooling speakers (to include Rue Kream, Madeline Rains, Kelly, Ben, and Cameron Lovejoy, Erika Davis-Pitre, Dayna Martin, and Eli Gerzon), and funshops for children of all ages, we have planned a Dance with Karaoke on Thursday night, a talent show on Saturday where you will enjoy a variety of acts ranging from a joke-telling 3 year old to experienced professional performers, and an Untrepreneurial Fair at which unschoolers (adults and kids) who are registered for the conference may sell items they make to conference attendees.

We are lucky to have an abundance of space at this conference site, so in addition to spaces for presentations, discussions, and funshops, we'll also have a Playroom with things especially meant for our younger ones to enjoy, a Game Room where people will be able to set up their computer and video games, as well as tables for card, role-playing, and other kinds of games, and a Creativity Room, stuffed with the tools for arts and crafts and inventing.

To top off a weekend of discussion and fun we will have a Monday picnic planned, so stay Sunday and get to know other fellow unschoolers better, chat, connect, create lasting friendships and join us to close out the conference at the Picnic on Monday.

All conference attendees will receive a conference handbook with directory included.

To stay up to date on all conference additions by joining their yahoo group by sending an e mail to: (mailto:NEUConference-subscribe@yahoogroups.com) .

As always, full and partial scholarships are available, please see the web site for details

6th Annual AERO Conference - June 2009 - Albany

"Educational Alternatives: Past, Present, & Future"
Hosted by the Alternative Education Resource Organization (AERO)
June 25th - 28th 2009, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Albany, NY
www.EducationRevolution.org
email: aeroconference@gmail.com

You are cordially invited to attend the Alternative Education Resource Organization's 6th annual AERO Conference! For the sixth year in a row the AERO conference will continue its exciting tradition of bringing together educators, students, parents, and many others involved in educational alternatives from around the U.S., Canada, and the world. In fact, we've had representatives from nearly every North American state and province, as well as over fifteen other countries attend in the past five years! From Public Alternative to Unschooling, we will have many educational alternatives represented. Other examples include: Montessori, Waldorf (Steiner) Choice, Democratic, Homeschool, Open, Charter, Free, Sudbury, Holistic, Virtual, Magnet, Early Childhood, Reggio Emilia, Indigo, Krishnamurti, Quaker, Libertarian, Independent, Progressive, Community, Cooperative, and many more!
This year's conference is also a joyous celebration of AERO's 20th anniversary! In recognition of this milestone, our conference theme is "Educational Alternatives: Past, Present, & Future." Choices for workshops and presentations are extensive, and are never limited to the conference theme alone. As in prior years, there will be open workshop time throughout the conference where various presentations and special events will be entirely up to the attendees to organize! Last year we had over 80 unique workshops and presentations run by the attendees and featured speakers. This year we fully expect to match and possibly surpass that number!

This year we will have several wonderful keynote speakers and many featured presenters. This year's keynote speakers are Patch Adams, Deborah Meier, Khalif Williams, Ira Shor, Don "Four Arrows" Jacobs, Anna Finklestein & Kris Sage, Dror Yaron, Kristin Diodonet, & Jerry Mintz. Bill Ayers, C.T. Lawrence Butler, Sally Carless, Meghan Carrico, Anthony Dallmann-Jones, Kenneth Danford, Matthew Davis, Helen Hughes, Susan Kambrich, Arnie Langberg, Joan Lawson, Mary Leue, John Harris Loflin, Chris Mercogliano, Ron Miller, Scott Nine, Susan Ohanian, Robb Scott, Len Solo, Herb Snitzer, and Lynn Stoddard are confirmed as featured presenters. At the conference we will have a number of special events including documentaries, discussion groups, workshop series, featured workshops, entertainment, morning yoga, and much, much more! The conference will take place in the gorgeous Crowne Plaza Hotel with a special evening held at St. Anthony's, the performance art space of Grand Street Community Arts.

Celtic Harpist Michael Riversong will be providing music for parts of the conference.
If you are seeking to improve the education of our young people, we hope you will join us for this wonderful meeting of others involved in the alternative education movement. Simply put, with the growing success of our previous conferences, and the dire need for change in the existing education system, the stage has been set for us to truly build critical mass for the education revolution!
