Montclair Art Homeschool Days 2010

All Montclair Art Museum Homeschool days (ages 4 - 13) are Thursdays, noon-2 p.m.
HOMESCHOOL DAY, 12 – 2 pm (Ages 4 – 13)
$6 per child. Adults $12.
(FREE for ADULT members)

The Montclair Art Museum invites you and other Homeschooling families for a fun and educational afternoon. These two-hour programs will include a gallery tour and studio art project led by a Museum educator.

Linoleum Block Print Contest

The Linoleum Block Print Contest is an annual art contest sponsored by Blick Art Materials for students in grades 4-12. (deadline March 15, 2010)

A total of 15 students will win art supplies for their schools (between $50-$400 worth) and handsome walnut mounted plaques for themselves when their prints are chosen from thousands of entries.

Free Art Lesson Plans

Did you realize how many art supply stores offer free lesson plans online? and online "instructors"? Some can be be searched at least a bit, perhaps by technique (printmaking, painting, collage, etc.) and Age/grade level. I do not always see a big difference between "art projects" and "art lessons" on those sites that offer both.

Sculpture Grounds

Grounds for Sculpture, Hamilton, NJ. Open Tuesdays through Sundays. 10 a.m.- 6 p.m. year-round (closed to public on Oct. 11, 2008). Admission $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and students 13+, for ages 6 - 12 $6. Guided tours by appointment only. Pick up a brochure for self-guided tours. Click for directions.
